A highly rare and unused Zenith S.58 diver’s wristwatch. Ref. 2/3153. According to the accompanying museum certificate, the watch was manufactured in January 1961.

The watch features a flawless original white dial with radium lume and original radium hands. There is some radium-burn visible on hand surfaces. The luminous mass has aged to a beautiful brown hue. The stainless steel case is in like-new condition, and the unsigned crown is original. Engraved on the case back is S.58. The watch case remains splashproof. The case size is 37 mm.

The Zenith S.58 Mk1 model houses the Zenith cal. 120 manual-winding movement. The movement has just been serviced and is in like-new condition.

This watch comes with original and extremely rare NOS stainless steel expansion bracelet made by Guy Frers with 57 end pieces. The bracelet bears the code 4/59.

Included with the watch is a red Zenith watch box and an Extract-from-the-Registers certificate granted by Zenith Heritage for the watch.

The watch comes with a 12-month warranty.

S.58 Zenith introduced the S.58 diver’s watch in 1958. The exact origin of S.58 name is not known, but it is believed to come from the words “Super water resistant” or possibly “Scaphandre,” which means “diving” in French. The S.58 model was produced in four different versions and with four different movements. The Mk1 model housed the Zenith cal. 120 manual-winding movement. The subsequent Mk2-Mk4 models used automatic movements. This watch is particularly rare as it is an unused NOS (new-old-stock) piece. It came to us from a Finnish family, that held a watch store in the 1950s-1960s.

NOS ZENITH S.58

Hyvin harvinainen ja käyttämätön Zenith S.58 sukeltajan rannekello. Ref. 2/3153. Mukana tulevan museotodistuksen mukaan kello on valmistettu tammikuussa 1961.

Kellossa on virheetön alkuperäinen valkoinen kellotaulu radium-lumella ja alkuperäiset radium-osoittimet. Loistemassa on tummunut kauniin ruskean sävyyn. Teräskuori on uudenveroinen ja signeeraamaton nuppi on alkuperäinen. Takapohjassa on kaiverrus S.58 . Kello on yhä roiskevesitiivis. Kuoren koko on n. 37 mm.

Zenith S.58 Mk1 mallissa on Zenithin cal. 120 manuaalivetoinen koneisto. Koneisto on juuri huollettu ja uudenveroisessa kunnossa.

Kellossa on hyvin harvinainen, mallin alkuperäinen, NOS Guy Frersin valmistama teräs joustoranneke 57 päätypaloilla. Ranteessa on lukkokoodi 4/59.

Mukana tulee kellon lisäksi punainen Zenith kellolaatikko sekä Zenith Heritage:n kellolle myöntämä Extract-from-the-Registers -todistus.

Kellolla on 12kk huoltotakuu.

S.58

Zenith esitteli S.58 sukeltajankellon vuonna 1958.
