ROLEX SUBMARINER 1680 “RED”

Well-preserved Rolex Oyster Perpetual Submariner 1680 “Red”. Serial number 328XXXX dates production to 1973. Finnish-market watch.

Pristine original Red Mk5 Beyeler tritium dial and matching hands. Original black Mk3 fat-font bezel insert with small lume dot. Stainless steel case in very good condition, with strong original bevels still clearly visible on lugs. Case remains water-resistant, tested to +5 / -0.7 bar. Case size 40 mm.

Powered by Rolex cal. 1570 automatic movement. Movement serviced by official Rolex AD in 2019, and again by us in 11/2025. Performance in testing was excellent.

Fitted with superb Rolex Oyster bracelet ref. 93150/580. Clasp code S-AB3 (service clasp, year 2000). Inside caseback stamped IV/72.

Delivered in Rolex green service pouch. No original box or papers.

Rolex Submariner Date 1680 -Red- from 1973

RED SUBMARINER Rolex introduced Submariner Date ref. 1680 in 1967. Early “Red” versions were fitted with so-called meters-first dials, where depth rating was printed as 200m/660ft. Three dial variants are known from this era: Mk1–Mk3. Later, depth printing was reversed to 660ft/200m, and three further “Red” dial variants exist: Mk4–Mk6. On Mk4 dials, “Submariner” text was printed in red ink on top of a white base print. From Mk4 onward, red “Submariner” print was applied directly onto dial black surface. Dial on this example is Mk5, where “Submariner” is printed directly on dial. Dial made by Beyeler. Hyväkuntoinen Rolex Oyster Perpetual Submariner 1680 RED. Sarjanumeron 328XXXX mukainen valmistusvuosi on 1973. Suomikello.

Kellossa on virheetön alkuperäinen Red Mk5 Beyeler tritium kellotaulu ja -osoittimet. Musta Mk3 fat-font bezel pienellä lume-dotilla on alkuperäinen. Teräskuori on hyvässä kunnossa. Korvakkeiden vahvat viisteet ovat yhä näkyvissä. Kuori on yhä vesitiivis, testattu +5/-0,7 bar. Kuoren koko on 40 mm.

Kellossa on Rolexin cal.1570 automaattikoneisto. Koneisto on huollettu virallisella AD:llä vuonna 2019 ja nyt meillä 11.2025. Testeissä koneisto toimi erittäin hyvin.

Kellossa on huippukuntoinen Rolexin Oyster 93150/580 teräsranneke. Lukon vuosikoodi on S-AB3 (Service, 2000). Takapohjan sisäpuolella on vuosileima IV/72.

Kello toimitetaan Rolexin vihreässä huoltopussissa, ei alkuperäistä laatikkoa/papereita.

Kellolla on 12 kk huoltotakuu.

RED SUBMARINER

Rolex esitteli Submariner Date 1680 mallin ensimmäisen kerran vuonna 1967. Ensimmäisinä vuosina Rolex käytti RED malleissa nk. meters-first kellotaulua jossa syvyyslukema oli ilmoitettu muodossa 200m/660ft. Näitä taulumalleja tunnetaan kolme Mk1-Mk3. Tämän jälkeen syvyysmerkintä käännettiin ympäri muotoon 660ft/200m. Näitä tauluja tunnetaan myös kolme erilaista. Mk4-Mk6.

Mk4 mallissa Rolex painoi Submariner tekstin punaisella maalilla valkoisen pohjatekstin päälle. MkIV tauluversiosta alkaen Submariner-teksti maalattiin punaisella suoraan kellotaulun mustalle pohjalle. Tämän meillä myynnissä olevan mallin kellotaulu on mallia MkV, jossa Submariner on painettu suoraan kellotauluun. Kellotaulun on valmistanut Beyeler.

Noin vuonna 1975-1976 Rolex vaihtoi Submariner tekstin valkoiseksi ja tällaisena se säilyi valmistuksen loppuun saakka. 1680 mallin tuotanto päättyi n. 1980-81.
