Rare Leonidas Triple-Date manual-winding chronograph from the 1950’s.
Adorning the watch is a captivating salmon-pink two-tone dial, featuring not only regular timekeeping but also displays for the day of the week, month, and date. Steel Dauphine hands add a touch of elegance. The stainless steel case is in good condition, equipped with quick-set pushers for adjusting the day of the month and the month itself. It’s important to note that the case lacks seals, so this watch is best suited for dry conditions. The case measures 35mm in diameter.
Powering this timepiece is the Valjoux 72 C manual-winding calendar chronograph movement. The movement has just undergone a comprehensive restoration.
Complementing the watch is a suede leather strap from our own collection. Original box and papers are not included.
This watch comes with a 12-month service warranty.
LÉONIDAS SAINT-IMIER
The Leonidas watch factory was founded by Julien Bourquin in 1841. In 1914, the factory changed ownership when it was acquired by Constant Jeanneret-Droz, who hailed from a renowned watchmaking family. His father, Jules Frédéric Jeanneret, had founded the Excelsior Park watch factory. Leonidas operated in the town of Saint-Imier, Switzerland. The factory specialized in various chronograph models, triple-date watches, and moon-phase watches. They also produced different instruments for aviation and the automotive industry. During World War II, Leonidas manufactured chronographs for the Italian and German armies, among others. In 1962, Leonidas merged with the Heuer watch manufacturer. Subsequently, Heuer-Leonidas jointly produced chronographs under that brand until 1984.Harvinainen Leonidas Triple-Date manuaalivetoinen kronografi 1950-luvulta. Kellossa on kaunis lohenpunainen two-tone kellotaulu, jossa on normaalin aikanäytön lisäksi kuukaudenpäivän, viikonpäivän ja kuukauden näytöt. Teräksenväriset osoittimet ovat Dauphine-mallia. Teräskuori on hyväkuntoinen. Kuoressa on pikasiirto painimet kuukaudenpäivän ja kuukauden vaihtamiseksi. Kuoressa ei ole tiivisteitä, joten kello soveltuu vain siistiin käyttöön. Kuoren koko on 35 mm.
Kellossa on Valjoux 72 C manuaalivetoinen kalenteri-kronografikoneisto. Koneisto on juuri täysin kunnostettu.
Kellon mokkanahkainen ranneke on meidän omasta mallistosta. Ei alkuperäistä laatikkoa/papereita.
Kellolla on 12 kk huoltotakuu.
LÉONIDAS SAINT-IMIER
Leonidas kellotehtaan perusti Julien Bourquin jo vuonna 1841. Tehdas vaihtoi omistajaa 1914 kun sen osti Constant Jeanneret-Droz joka oli kuuluisaa kellovalmistaja sukua. Hänen isänsä Jules Frédéric Jeanneret perusti Excelsior Park kellotehtaan.
Leonidas toimi St.Imierin kaupungissa Sveitsissä. Tehdas erikoistui erilaisiin kronografi-, triple date- ja kuunkierto-malleihin. Valmistukseen kuului myös erilaiset mittarit ilmailun ja autoteollisuuden tarpeisiin. WWII:n aikana Leonidas valmisti kronografeja mm. Italian ja Saksan armeijan käyttöön.
Leonidas yhdistyi Heuer kellovalmistajan kanssa vuonna 1962. Tämän jälkeen Heuer-Leonidas valmisti yhteisellä tuotemerkillä kronografeja vuoteen 1984 asti.
