18k Patek Philippe Neptune ref. 5081/1 

Introduced in 1996, Patek Philippe’s Neptune represented an intriguing interpretation of the luxury sports watch, combining the refined character of a traditional Patek Philippe with more robust and sporty elements. Positioned alongside the established Nautilus and, from 1997 onwards, the newly introduced Aquanaut, Neptune offered a more restrained and classically styled alternative.

Reference 5081/1 was produced from 1996 to 2002 and was offered in 18k yellow gold. Its 36 mm round case features a distinctive engine-turned bezel, screw-down crown and screw-back construction, giving the watch a notably sporty character while retaining the elegance associated with Patek Philippe’s dress watches.

Reference 5081 is today regarded as one of the lesser-known and considerably rarer Patek Philippe sports models of its era. Its short production period and relatively understated design make it an appealing choice for collectors seeking an unusual alternative to the far more familiar Nautilus and Aquanaut. Contemporary auction records further underline its rarity, with Christie’s noting in 2008 that only a handful of examples had appeared publicly at that time.

This watch has classic silvered dial which is complemented by applied Roman numerals, elegant leaf hands, central sweep seconds and a discreet date aperture at 3 o’clock. Inside, the watch is powered by Patek Philippe’s automatic cal. 315 SC, a Geneva Seal-certified movement fitted with a Gyromax balance and 21k gold rotor. Movement has 48 hour power reserve.

Watch is delivered with a Patek Philippe leather travel case and service documents. An Extract from the Archives has been ordered from the Patek Philippe Museum for this watch.

Watch is fully serviced by Patek Philippe Geneva workshop and it is under factory warranty until 8/2028.
