We provide different types of valuation services for watches to our customers. When we buy a watch for our collection, we typically refer to the purchase price, which represents the value of the watch in its current condition before any maintenance or finishing work.
Collectors may request an estimate of the insurance value of their entire collection or just the current value of a single watch. Estates may want to assess the value of all the watches in a deceased person’s estate, and insurance companies may ask for estimates of the value of damaged watches and replacement costs. All of these values can differ from one another, and we can assist in all of these cases.
THE VALUE OF A WRISTWATCH IS DETERMINED BY THE FOLLOWING FACTORS:
1) the desirability of the watch model on the market
2) the originality of the watch (dial/hands, case, movement, documents)
3) the condition of the watch (dial/hands, case, movement)
4) the material of the watch
We provide a free valuation for wristwatches if the requester offers it to us for purchase. The estimate is verbal and based on over 20 years of experience and current market knowledge of the watch’s valuation.
Written or verbal estimates of a watch collection are chargeable services. A written estimate for one watch costs €68 + VAT (€84.32 including VAT). The cost of determining the value of a collection is always agreed upon on a case-by-case basis.
We are only interested in purchasing high-quality and rare wristwatches. We do not engage in watch appraisals as a standalone service, but it is part of the service we provide.
