Exceptionally rare 18k yellow gold Longines 13ZN chronograph from year 1947.

Watch features a beautiful and original gilt tachymeter/telemeter dial with Arabic numerals. Blued steel hands provide crisp contrast against warm dial tone. Robust 18k gold case with distinctive fancy-lug construction remains in outstanding condition. Case diameter measures 37.5 mm.

Longines 13ZN chronograph movement has been fully restored by Longines Heritage restoration department and now performs to factory standards.

Case is fitted with fixed gold bars. Brown Hirsch Genuine Crocodile leather OE strap is paired with original gilt Longines buckle.

Watch is accompanied by Longines Heritage Certificate of Authenticity -document, warranty cards, and protective presentation box.

Covered by Longines factory service warranty for 24 months.

18k Longines 13ZN chronograph from 1947

According to accompanying Certificate of Authenticity, production of this watch began in Saint-Imier, Switzerland, in 1947. Longines manufactured cal. 13ZN chronograph movement specifically for this piece and delivered it to its French subsidiary operating at time under name Société Française Longines (S.F.L.). For this model, SFL commissioned an 18k gold case from casemaker Paul Franck et Fils, based at 59 bis rue de Paris, Saint-Leu-la-Forêt. Paul Franck was a respected French case manufacturer known to supply gold cases under license to brands such as Cartier, Omega, and Longines. Hallmark of Paul Franck & Fils is clearly stamped inside case back. ⸻ Longines 13ZN Longines produced many important chronograph movements, but cal. 13ZN stands among most sought-after. It replaced earlier and smaller cal. 13.33Z and introduced several patented technical solutions. Most notable innovation was flyback chronograph function, patented on 16 June 1936. Cal. 13ZN remained in production from 1936 until 1951 and was widely used in both steel and gold chronographs. Hyvin harvinainen 18k ruusukultainen Longines 13ZN kronografi vuodelta 1947.

Kellossa on kaunis alkuperäinen kullanvärinen takymetri/telemetri kellotaulu arabialaisilla numeroilla. Osoittimet ovat sinistettyä terästä. 18k vahvarakenteinen fancy-lug kultakuori on huippukunnossa. Kuoren koko on 37,5 mm.

Longines 13ZN kronografikoneisto on juuri täydellisesti kunnostettu Longineksen restaurointiosaston huollossa.

Kuoressa on kiinteät kultaiset lukitusnastat. Ruskea ranneke on Hirsch Genuine Crocodile -mallia. Ranteessa on Longineksen alkuperäinen kullattu solki.

Kellon mukana tulee Longineksen restaurointiosaston “Certificate of Authenticity” todistus, takuukortit ja suojalaatikko.

Kellolla on Longineksen tehtaan 24 kk huoltotakuu.

HISTORIA

Mukana tulevan Certificate of Authenticity todistuksen mukaan kellon valmistus alkoi Saint-Imierissä, Sveitsissä vuonna 1947. Longines valmisti tätä kelloa varten 13ZN kronografikoneiston, joka toimitettiin tehtaan Ranskan osastolle, joka toimi tuolloin nimellä Société Francaise Longines (S.F.L).

SFL tilasi tätä kelloa varten 18k ruusukultaisen kuoren kuorivalmistajaPaul Franck et Fils: ltä, joka toimi osoitteessa 59 bis rue de Paris, Saint Leu La Forêt. Tiedetään, että Paul Franck valmisti alihankintana lisenssillä kultakuoria mm. Cartierille, Omegalle sekä Longinekselle. Kellon takapohjan sisäpuolella on Paul Franck & Fils tehtaan leima.

LONGINES 13ZN

Longineksen tuotannossa on paljon mielenkiintoisia koneistomalleja, mutta näistä cal. 13ZN on yksi kaikkein halutuimmista. 13ZN tuli korvaamaan aiemmin tuotannossa ollutta pienempää cal. 13.33Z mallia.13ZN mallin mukana Longines esitteli uusia patentoituja rakenteita kuten Flyback-mekanismi, jolle se sai patentin 16. kesäkuuta 1936. 13ZN oli tuotannossa vuosina 1936-1951 ja sitä käytettiin hyvin laajalti erilaisissa teräs- ja kultakuorisissa kronografeissa, kunnes sen vähitellen korvasi vuonna 1947 esitelty cal. 30CH.
